Hi to all my diving friends / instructors,
I was sorry to hear about the shark attack in Ras Moahmed yesterday. (Please note the incident happened yesterday was nothing to do with our boat or divers we heard about the incident on social media about 3 snorkelers)
Today our livebaord Red Sea Aggressor II dived Shark & Yolanda reef. Towards the end of the dive a large inquisitive Oceanic White Tip came from out of the blue and straight for the SMB. We always brief our divers the correct way to dive with Sharks and the enforce the correct end of dive procedures on the surface so everyone was calm and safe.
The shark was showing small signs of aggression including nibbling the zodiac ladders.
Please be safe everyone and follow the correct Shark diving procedures. I would also recommend no pick up by the big boat or dragging divers on the drift line as the shark is circling the surface. Pick up by zodiac only 2 by 2 and limit surface activity.
During the dive before the Shark appeared we also found a pair of shorts which looked like they have been ripped / torn. We are unsure if these belong to a victim from yesterdays incident but please all be safe and ensure all divers follow the correct procedures if you are diving Ras Mohamed.
Thank you everyone.
