Наш дайвцентр ходил на сафари на Викинге с 30.11 по 05.12.04 на Симиланы. Мы сразу направили письмо в их дайвцентр. Они находятся в Патонге : Patong Beach, Kathu, Phuket 83 150 Thailand.
Только сегодня получили ответ. С командой, ботом, офисом всё в порядке. К великому прискорбию у членов команды в семьях есть погибшие..
Правительство Тайланда закрыло на неопределённое время заповедник Симилановы острова. Дайвцентр Викинг отменил все ближайшие сафари. Вот оригинал письма от Викинга полученного нами сегодня утром :

Dear All of you that are thinking about us here in Phuket.

We have received so many mails from all over so we will not be abele to
answer every one in person. However everybody in the Viking-team is
okay, but some of our crew members have loosed family members in this
Shook Wave. We have been forest to cancel our New Year cruises do the
government has closed The Similan Island Temporary and we do not know
when it will be opened again.

We will do our best to do the best of the situation, but as you all know
its not easy do the phone system is overloaded and its really hard to
find out things right now. But we will try to keep everyone informed as
soonest we know more our self.

You can all see on our website the concerns about the situation here in
Thailand do we have never before got so many questions in our Guest
Book. There are even donations coming in to support us and we the Viking
team would like to say thanks for the support given to us and it's
really helps that you all are thinking about us.

M/Y Viking of The Orient was on here way in to Patong on 26 Dec -04 but
luckily we had time to turn her around and to get her to safe waters.
She arrived to Chalong Bay one day late due to the tide wave but
everyone onboard customers and crews are all okay.

Our office in Patong was close to be flooded, but the water never
entered our office, and we are very happy for this. There are many
others that not been so lucky as we have been and they7 don't have any
offices left.

We the Viking team would like to say thanks for all your support and we
hope to see you all in near further.

Скуба Кэт обновил свой сайт.
Слава Богу, все живы и здоровы. Пострадал только офис, но надеются, что к 7 января смогут начать работать.

All of Scuba Cat's Customers, Staff and Boats escaped this tragic event unharmed. Although our Shop was a victim of this event, we expect to be able to offer a full service again in the very near future. In spite of the damage that was caused it's important to note that 95% of Phuket is intact and functioning normally.

Scuba Adventure continues to run and although at this stage it is too early to put an exact date on when our other services will resume, we are hoping to be able to meet all of our bookings from January 7th onwards. Communication is a problem at the moment, but in the next few days we will be contacting all those who have booked to clarify the situation and advise you.

Thanks for your email. All the customers, staff and boats are safe and well, I'm glad to say.
95% of Phuket is still intact, it's mainly the beach front area that has suffered the worst.
I'll send a longer email as soon as I get the chance. As you can imagine there's quite a lot to do at the moment.

По поводу Мальдив. Двое моих друзей жили и ныряли на Paradise. Как раз правая сторона Мальдив Северный Мале Атолл. По их рассказам - волной выбило все стекла и частично двери в домиках. Никто не погиб. Все вещи мокрые. Вчера КрасЭйром вылететь они не смогли - может быть вылетят сегодня.

Ну, вот, в первом номере за этот год Подводного клуба можно прочитать заметки и увидеть фотографии как раз этих людей (Олег Зимин и его жена), о которых я писала.
Остается добавить, что их рассказу о происходившем я доверяю. Этих людей я знаю достаточно хорошо (очень адекватные и уравновешенные люди) , кроме того они у меня учились
